Royal Yachting Association First Aid Courses

We teach RYA First Aid courses, inland and offshore (Category C). These qualifications are mainly for watersports instructors and yacht masters but any person who ventures out in a boat or is on club safety duty would benefit from this course. The syllabus is similar to an Emergency First Aid at Work course and includes such topics as: -

• Drowning
• Secondary drowning
• Cold water shock
• Water based infections - e.g. Leptospirosis, Blue Algae etc.
• Compression & Concussion
• Hypo and Hyperthermia
• Heat exhaustion
• Sprains & Strains

The category C section contains advice on helicopter rescue and the types of medicine you should take offshore.

We can come to your centre providing that it is RYA recognised.
